Outcomes


In the bid to the EU asking for co-funding for this network we identified a programme of work which the network will deliver. This work entails:

• a series of network meetings
• three international conferences:  04 - 05 November 2011 Helsinki, 23 - 24 May 2012 London, May 2013 Brussels.
• dissemination symposia in Vienna 8-10 November 2012 as strands of ELIA Conference
• producing discussion documents, reports, position papers and regular updates on work
• maintaining a web-based information resource and information exchange platform
• fostering interactions between researchers and supervisors internationally
• publishing a European handbook on artistic research
• seeding and enabling more international collaborative initiatives and bids across the arts
• lobbying for greater resources and recognition for arts research at all levels of decision-making

This programme of work is broken down to the different workpackages in the following way:

SHARE WORKPACKAGE 1 Graduate Schools

Key Outputs:
• a pilot study, systematically describing collaborative organizational structures at 3rd cycle level.
• input ideas and proposals into all project conferences.
• facilitate one SHARE Dissemination Symposium in Vienna (part of ELIA Biennial)
• a chapter of the final publication
• work produced will also contribute to the WP4 Advocacy, WP5 Validation, and WP6 Dissemination

SHARE WORKPACKAGE 2 Development 3rd cycle education (sub-network)
Key Outputs:
• internal document on specific needs for information, support and collaboration of schools in the starting phase of 3rd cycle
• pilots on curriculum, collaboration and best practice examples of learning material linking teaching and research/enquiry
• document of the pilots to be produced as an internal document in January 2012
• presentation of the above at Vienna conference in October 2012
• a chapter of the final publication
• work produced will also contribute to the WP4 Advocacy, WP5 Validation, and WP6 Dissemination

SHARE WORKPACKAGE 3 Artist-Researchers + Supervisors

Key Outputs:
• a peer-reviewed register by supervisors/for supervisors of qualified and experienced 3rd cycle supervisors across Europe with a view to international mobility and exchange etc.
• presentation of work at Vienna conference in October 2012
• a chapter of the final publication
• work produced will also contribute to the WP4 Advocacy, WP5 Validation, and WP6 Dissemination

SHARE WORKPACKAGE 4 Advocacy (cross network support)

Key Outputs:
• an overview of PhD degrees and research structures in Europe / baseline study
• a ‘Strategy and Advocacy Paper on Creative Research’
• accumulating into an attractive information package targeted at key groups and decision-makers
• a chapter of the final publication


SHARE WORKPACKAGE 5 Validation (cross network support)

Key Outputs:
• Quality plan published online
• Set of short BOLOGNA policy papers on types of degrees, quality criteria, research assessment, 3rd level competencies, staff/supervision qualifications, issued from January 2012 onwards a ‘Strategy and Advocacy Paper on Creative Research’
• Summaries of key materials, papers and an overall assessment of the progress made within the network - a chapter of the final publication

SHARE WORKPACKAGE 6 Dissemination (cross network support)

Sub-network meetings: meetings will be realized in conjunction with the other network events – especially the conference/symposia.
Key Outputs:
• the dissemination plan
• co-ordinate three project conferences
• co-ordinate three SHARE Dissemination Symposiums in Vienna, October 2012, prepared by the work packages 1, 2 and 3
• network newsletter
• project manage website
• project manage book production
• overall network and sub-networks co-ordination
