Pessi Parviainen

Pessi Parviainen (b. 1977) is a doctoral student at the Performing Arts Research Centre, Theatre Academy Helsinki. Drawing from his background in sculpture, music, and performance art, his research looks at the composition and performance of sound as a multifaceted phenomenon. Parviainen holds a MFA from Simon Fraser University's School for the Contemporary Arts, and serves on the board of the Finnish Society of Acoustic Ecology.
