Peter van der Hijden

Biography

Peter van der Hijden has been Head of Sector Higher Education Policies at the European Commission DG Education and Culture. He has worked for many years on the Erasmus programme and the Bologna Process. Peter now works at DG Research and Innovation, where he deals with universities and researchers in the context of Innovation Union, European Research Area and Horizon 2020.

Peter has studied law at Nijmegen, Leiden and Maastricht University. Before moving to Brussels, he worked at Maastricht University as Vice Registrar of the University Council and Secretary to the Law Research Committee.
